Please be advised that while rock is screened at the quarry, rock is not washed, and therefore at times rock may contain 25% or more of dirt/fines from the quarry during the mining process. Rocky Top Resources will do our best to mitigate this, but Rocky Top is not responsible for any dirt/fines in loads.
Rock sizes are approximate and based on each quarry’s description and approximate length or width of most of the rock material. There will be rocks that are smaller or larger than the stated size, particularly with river rock, due to the screening process at each vendor’s quarry.
Rock is a natural resource, and as such, rock is not guaranteed for uniformity in size, color, or texture. When picking up loads at the quarry, variations in size, color, or texture can happen from one load to the next, sometimes on the same day, based on where the quarry is mining.
River Rock can have the largest size variation, as well as the most dirt/fines from each quarry, especially after a rain or snow storm.
Rocky Top Resources is not responsible for damage to customer’s vehicle when loading. It is also the customer’s responsibility to know how much weight their vehicle can safely hold and transport.
Rock is sold by the cubic yard. One Cubic Yard of rock is approximately 1.30 tons (except Lava Rock which is approximately 0.50 tons per cubic yard). To compare cubic yard pricing with tonnage pricing, divide the cubic yard price by 1.3 for the price per ton (except Lava Rock; use 0.5 instead).
